LIBRARY:

Nandha College of Nursing Library (NCNL) is fully automated and specially designed to motivate the learning experience of faculty members and student community. It functions in three storeyed building with the area of 3102 square feet as the heart of Educational institutions. The main aim of library is to provide right source to right users at right time.

The collections of library include Books, Journals, Magazines, Project reports, Question Bank, Back volumes of Journals, Magazines and Newspapers in the field of Management studies, Science, Engineering and Technologies.

1.1 Reference Section

This section has more than 399 volumes like highly valuable books, unique collections, NCLEX-RN books, Dictionaries, Encyclopaedias, Syllabus based text and Reference books.

1.2 Periodical Section

The air-conditioned periodical section has 29 National and International Journals from the following various societies.

1.3 Stack Section

The collection of Library books has reached around 5505 volumes and 2869 titles related to Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, OBG, Mental Health Nursing, Nursing Education, Nursing Management, Nursing Practice, Nursing Research etc. Books are arranged barcoding system and subject.

1.4 Circulation Section

Circulation section includes issue, return and renewal by the users using their Identity card. The Bar coding technology has been mapped with every user’s Identity card and also with library software to speed up the circulation process.

The library has 10 years digitalized question papers which are being sent to faculty members and student community as per their request through mail ID. The library has procured unavailable and rare books by using membership with Developing Library Network (DELNET). OPAC facility is available to facilitate online search of library sources by giving keywords like Title, Author, and Publisher etc.

1.5 OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogues) 

Library is computerized with Campus – iLib: The Digital Librarian commercial software. By this software, OPAC facility is available at the entrance of library to facilitate online search of library documents available in the library by giving keywords like Title, Author, Publisher etc.,  

1.6 Digital Section

The air-conditioned digital library is implemented with 36 desktop systems. It can be accessed inside the campus on 24X7 bases via Wi-Fi and also remote access by using User name and Password for DELNET journals.

There are 145 e- Journals and e-Magazines as CDs. It is networking with DELNET (Developing Library Network, New Delhi.) for resource sharing.

1.7 Working Hours

The library is kept open from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. in all working days.
