At Nandha College, we uphold the core value of Indian heritage, as encapsulated in the saying:
“Vidya dadati vinayam” – Education gives humility, humility builds character, character leads to wealth, wealth fosters righteousness (dharmam), and righteousness brings happiness.
This guiding principle emphasizes the importance of character-building through education. With students hailing from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, the creation of a harmonious, respectful, and collegial environment becomes paramount to achieving our educational mission.
Ragging – a deplorable social menace – has no place in the academic culture of our institution. We are committed to maintaining a ragging-free campus and fostering a supportive and respectful environment for all students. Through proactive measures, awareness initiatives, and strict enforcement of policies, we aim to eliminate ragging entirely and safeguard the well-being of every student.
Ensuring a ragging-free atmosphere within and outside the campus through vigilant monitoring, preventive actions, and student support systems.
Educating students about the consequences of ragging, the punishments involved, and the importance of maintaining a ragging-free academic environment.
Encouraging positive and respectful interactions among students, fostering friendships, and nurturing a sense of community that aligns with the institution's mission and objectives.
Instilling in students the understanding that personal growth, self-confidence, and character development are integral to national progress and responsible citizenship.
To ensure strict compliance with anti-ragging policies, the following punishments will be enforced for students involved in ragging activities
Immediate cancellation of admission for those found guilty of ragging.
Temporary suspension from attending classes, depending on the severity of the ragging incident.
Scholarships, fellowships, and other financial benefits may be withheld or withdrawn.
Students involved in ragging may be barred from appearing in examinations or other evaluation processes.
Offenders will be disqualified from representing the institution in any regional, national, or international events, including sports, tournaments, or festivals.
Suspension or permanent expulsion from the hostel for students involved in ragging activities.
Depending on the severity of the offense, rustication from the institution for a period ranging from 1 to 4 semesters may be imposed.
In extreme cases, students may be permanently expelled from the institution and debarred from admission to any other institution.
If the individuals responsible for ragging cannot be identified, the institution may impose collective punishment to ensure that community pressure prevents potential ragging activities.
An FIR will be lodged with the local police, leading to the possible arrest of the individuals involved in ragging.
Nandha College is firmly committed to eradicating ragging and ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students. Through preventive measures, strict enforcement of rules, and a focus on student welfare, we strive to maintain a campus that fosters mutual respect, cooperation, and academic excellence.
